There's no place like home for Sand Creek, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Mesa Ridge Grizzlies on Saturday. The win continues a trend for the Scorpions in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now won seven in a row.

While Sand Creek won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-20, 25-23.

Their offense was headlined by Kayden Palafox and Joshua Bueno, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Joseph Tran and his 16 assists. Jacob Bridge controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Despite the loss, Mesa Ridge saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tristan Biber had 15 digs.

Sand Creek's record now sits at 9-11. As for Mesa Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-18.

The future could be bright for both Sand Creek and Mesa Ridge: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Scorpions will try to hand Doherty their sixth-straight loss when the two meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mesa Ridge will look to extend Fountain-Fort Carson's six-game losing streak when they meet at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
