He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Caruthers was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Gustine's win bumped their record up to 17-5. As for Golden Sierra, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6.
