Softball Recap: Pusch Ridge Christian Academy's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sahuarita, Pusch Ridge Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the Rincon/University Rangers by a score of 5-2. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Lions as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Josie Burnside spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on one hit and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Milan Daniels was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Maddy Hoel, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Pusch Ridge Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 10-12. As for Rincon/University, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season.

As of now, neither Pusch Ridge Christian Academy nor Rincon/University have any future games scheduled.
