Basketball Recap: Fairmont Senior Comes Up Short

Fairmont Senior lost against Lincoln back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Fairmont Senior Polar Bears took a 65-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lincoln Cougars.

Sadie Adams was a one-woman wrecking crew for Lincoln as she shot 5-for-8 from downtown and almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Adams a new career-high in rebounds. Sylvie Salerno was another key player, putting up 13 points in addition to six assists and five boards.

Fairmont Senior's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Lincoln, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-8.

The future could be bright for both Fairmont Senior and Lincoln: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Fairmont Senior will look to extend Liberty's 11-game losing streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Lincoln will try to hand Lewis County their third-straight loss when the two meet at 7:30 p.m. on February 5th.
