Johnston City dropped their record down to 17-5 on Saturday, which also ended the team's eight-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Carbondale Terriers, falling 8-2. If the Indians were looking for revenge after losing 12-4 to the Terriers when the teams met back in May of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Carbondale, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6. Considering they have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

For Carbondale's part, Ryan Perrott made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Perrott has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brayden Schimpf, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Tyler Karayiannis was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Looking ahead, Johnston City will face off against Trico at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Carbondale, they will take on Harrisburg at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
