Softball Recap: Eagleton College & Career Academy Has No Trouble Against Austin-East

While Eagleton College & Career Academy put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Austin-East. The Royals put the hurt on the Roadrunners with a sharp 15-0 win. The Royals have beaten the Roadrunners the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Roadrunners has come to flipping the script.

Lyla Campbell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had over her last three matches. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Sara Wilson and Karleigh Baker did most of the damage at the plate: Wilson scored two runs while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances, while Baker scored two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. That's the most runs Wilson has posted since back in April of 2024. Claire Johnson was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.

Eagleton College & Career Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .920. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory got Eagleton College & Career Academy back to even at 10-10-1. As for Austin-East, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
