Baseball Recap: Hugo Takes a Loss

Hugo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Tushka Tigers, falling 11-1. The Buffaloes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2021.

Hugo saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dakota Coulter, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Coulter has become a key player for the Buffaloes: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 3-14 otherwise.

Hugo's defeat dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Tushka, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 17-3.

Looking ahead, Hugo will face off against Valliant at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Buffaloes' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Tushka, they will host Tupelo at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
