Basketball Recap: Seneca Takes a Loss

Seneca fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Marquette on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 57-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marquette Crusaders. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Fighting Irish came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 210th, while the Crusaders are ranked 502nd).

Seneca's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 25-6. As for Marquette, they now have a winning record of 16-15.

As of now, neither Seneca nor Marquette have any future games scheduled.
