Softball Recap: Hawthorne Math & Science Academy Comes Up Short

Hawthorne Math & Science Academy managed to slip by Animo Leadership the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Aviators came up short against the Aztec Eagles on Thursday, falling 12-2. That's two games in a row now that the Aviators have lost by exactly ten runs.

Hawthorne Math & Science Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Animo Leadership, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Hawthorne Math & Science Academy and Animo Leadership will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Aviators see the field they'll take on Environmental Charter at 3:15 p.m. on the 30th. As for Animo Leadership, their break will end when they face Lennox Academy at 3:00 p.m. on the 29th.
