The Oaks Christian Lions will challenge the Saugus Centurions at 6:00  p.m.  on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average, (Oaks Christian 3.2, Saugus 3.3) so any  runs scored will be well earned.
On Friday,  it was close, but  Oaks Christian sidestepped Harvard-Westlake for  a  5-3 win. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Lions.
 James Latshaw was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   two  hits. Latshaw was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-2 with one  home run. That  home run marked the first that  he  launched this season.

 In other pitching news,  Connor Sahagun looked comfortable as he  pitched 1.2 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. He has been consistent  recently: he hasn't  given up  more than one  hit any time he's  pitched this season.
 Back at the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Quentin Young, who  went 1-for-4 with one  home run and three  RBI. He is  on a roll when it comes to  home runs, as he's  now  launched  at least one in each of the last three games he's  played.  Joshua Brown also deserves some recognition as  he  hit his first  double of the season.
Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Saugus). Everything went their way against North Hollywood on Tuesday as Saugus made off with  a  21-1 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Centurions sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
 Ming Lee looked comfortable as he  pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. What's more,  he gave up only zero  walks, the fewest he's  had since back in April of 2024.
 On the hitting side, Saugus got a  massive  performance out of  Kaden Haag, who  scored three  runs while going 2-for-3.  Jason-Jd Lawless was another key player,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while going 3-for-5.
 Saugus was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Hollywood only posted a  batting average of  .118.
 Saugus' win was  their fourth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 6-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Oaks Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging  on Saturday. Oaks Christian hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season,  having  averaged 1  home runs per game. However, it's not like Saugus struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 0.6  home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
