Soccer Recap: Layton Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Syracuse

Layton faced Syracuse in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Lancers came up short against the Titans, falling 6-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Syracuse this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in September.

Layton has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Syracuse, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 15-2.

Layton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Syracuse, they will challenge Weber at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
