Softball Recap: Meadowcreek Extends Winning Streak to Three

Meadowcreek had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 26-16 margin over the Berkmar Patriots. With that victory, the Mustangs brought their scoring average up to 7.5 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Lakea Fields, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-3. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Melissa Figueroa-Rosas, who went 2-for-3 with four runs and three RBI.

Meadowcreek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meadowcreek's win bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Berkmar, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Coincidentally, Meadowcreek and Berkmar will both be playing Discovery the next time they take the field. The Mustangs will host the Titans at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Patriots will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
