Soccer Recap: Newark Valley Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Newark Valley had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Groton Red Hawks by a score of 3-2 on Friday. If Newark Valley were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to Groton when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The victory got Groton back to even at 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Newark Valley is set to take on their familiar foe Southern Cayuga at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Groton will face off against rival Whitney Point at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
