Baseball Recap: Plant City Extends Winning Streak to Three

Plant City waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Riverview Sharks as they made off with a 9-1 win. The Raiders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Sharks, too.

Jacob Carbaugh looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February.

At the plate, Plant City let Salvadore Jaramillo and Drew Cothren run wild. Jaramillo scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Cothren scored two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Cothren has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Cieslo, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Plant City kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Plant City's record is now 14-10. As for Riverview, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plant City will venture away from home to square off against Robinson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Riverview, they will head out to challenge Chamberlain at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
