Volleyball Recap: Pocatello Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Rigby

Pocatello faced Rigby in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Thunder took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans. The match marked the first time this year in which the Thunder were not able to get on the board.

Lainey Rogers paced Pocatello's offense, picking up seven kills. Rogers got some help from Josie Haymore and her 11 assists.

Breleigh Youngstrom was the offensive standout of the game as she had eight digs. Lily Stewart also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.

Pocatello's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Rigby, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.

Looking ahead, Pocatello will be playing in front of their home fans against Twin Falls at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rigby, they have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Idaho Falls on the 23rd.
