Volleyball Preview: Wachusett Regional Mountaineers vs. Algonquin Regional Titans        
        
		
             Wachusett Regional is 1-9 against Algonquin Regional since September of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Tuesday. The Wachusett Regional Mountaineers will look to defend their home court  against the Algonquin Regional Titans  at 8:00  p.m. After  the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents,  one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.
 Last Friday, Wachusett Regional made easy work of Groton-Dunstable  and carried off  a  3-0 win. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Mountaineers.
 While Wachusett Regional won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the  second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-22,  25-14.
 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wachusett Regional to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Ari Catalfamo, who  had six  digs and five  aces. The dominant performance gave  Catalfamo a new career-high in  aces. The team also got some help courtesy of  Julia Vettese, who  had 14  digs.
 Wachusett Regional  was lethal from the service line and  finished the game with 18  aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Groton-Dunstable only served 11.
 Meanwhile, Algonquin Regional got the win against Framingham  on Monday by a conclusive  3-0.
 Algonquin Regional never let Framingham on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-23,  25-19.
 Wachusett Regional's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Algonquin Regional, their win was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 6-5.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of  Tuesday's  match:  Wachusett Regional has really dialed in their serving game this season,  having  averaged 12.2  aces per game. However, it's not like Algonquin Regional struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 12. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
