Basketball Recap: East Butler Victorious

East Butler won the last time they faced Osceola and things went their way on Friday too. The East Butler Tigers managed a 64-59 victory over the Osceola Bulldogs.

Boston Hinkle and Kelby Neujahr certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Hinkle went 8 of 18 on his way to 23 points, while Neujahr dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Neujahr has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 11 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jackson Winslow, who posted nine points.

East Butler's win bumped their record up to 17-1. As for Osceola, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Butler will head out to challenge McCool Junction on Tuesday. McCool Junction is on a four-game streak of home wins, East Butler a seven-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Osceola, they will head out on the road to face off against Bruning-Davenport/Shickley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Osceola is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.2 points per game this season.
