Football Recap: Poplar Starts Season with Loss at Home

Poplar unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were beaten by the Fairview Warriors 64-0 on Thursday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

Fairview's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Poplar will square off against rival Culbertson at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th. Meanwhile, Fairview is set to take on their familiar foe Forsyth at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th.
