Baseball Game Preview: Thorndale Bulldogs vs. Wimberley Texans

The Thorndale Bulldogs will challenge the Wimberley Texans at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Thorndale is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.

While Thorndale's win against Bartlett wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Thorndale skirted past Bartlett 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Thorndale has posted since February 28th.

Pedro Jimenez and Nathan Grimm did most of the damage at the plate: Jimenez went 2-for-3 with one home run, while Grimm scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That stolen base was Grimm's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Wimberley gave up the first runs on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over Lago Vista. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Texans.

Sage Hall was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double.

Thorndale pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Wimberley, their win bumped their record up to 6-3-1.
