Edwards County and Carrollton squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Edwards County had to settle for second. They lost to the Carrollton Hawks on the road by a 62-44 margin. The Lions' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

It was another big night for Lauren Flowers, who dropped a double-double with 35 points and ten rebounds for Carrollton. That makes it five consecutive games in which Flowers has scored at least a third of Carrollton's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Flowers, who posted ten points in addition to six boards and five steals.

Edwards County's loss dropped their record down to 20-9. As for Carrollton, they are on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 19 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-7 record this season.

Edwards County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Carrollton, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 55-39 victory against Cissna Park on the 6th.
