East Duplin extends home winning streak to seven

Recap: East Duplin Panthers vs. South Lenoir Blue Devils

The East Duplin Panthers had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.5 points), and they went ahead and made it 11 on Tuesday. They put the hurt on South Lenoir with a sharp 52-28 victory. East Duplin has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 24 points or more this season.

East Duplin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kinsey Cave led the charge by scoring nine points along with seven rebounds and two steals. JaMyah Pickett was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.

South Lenoir lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Alexus Haddock, who scored ten points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Tyndall, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.

East Duplin pushed their record up to 13-1 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. As for South Lenoir, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Duplin will take on Wallace-Rose Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Wallace-Rose Hill will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 458th, while East Duplin is ranked 65th). As for South Lenoir, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against North Lenoir at 6:00 p.m.
