Basketball Recap: Drew Terkildsen and Josie Jones Secure Win for Philip

Philip hadn't done well against Wall recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Philip Scotties came out on top against the Wall Eagles by a score of 52-45. That's two games straight that the Scotties have won by exactly seven points.

Leading Philip to victory were Josie Jones and Drew Terkildsen. Jones went 6 for 15 en route to 18 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals, while Terkildsen posted 19 points along with six assists and five boards. The game was Terkildsen's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Fayth Martin, who had five points and four steals.

When it comes to explaining why Wall lost, don't look at Faith Frink. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Frink a new career-high in boards. Brittney Walker was another key player, putting up six points in addition to eight rebounds and seven assists.

The victory (which was Philip's third in a row) raised their record to 7-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Wall, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6.

Philip has already played their next contest, a 61-30 win against Newell on the 30th. As for Wall, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 52-45 victory against Custer on the 25th.
