Basketball Game Preview: Palmetto Ridge Bears vs. Lely Trojans

The Palmetto Ridge Bears will head out on the road to challenge the Lely Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lely took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Palmetto Ridge, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Palmetto Ridge beat Estero 62-58.

Meanwhile, Lely came up short against First Baptist Academy on Friday and fell 42-32. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 265th, while the Lions are ranked 20th).

Palmetto Ridge will need focus on slowing down Fara Louissaint, one of several Lely players who made an impact when they last played. She posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zashlie Andris, who scored six points.

Palmetto Ridge's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Lely, they now have a losing record at 8-9.

Palmetto Ridge came up short against Lely in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 52-48. Can Palmetto Ridge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
