Basketball Recap: Southeast Pirates vs. Mogadore Wildcats

The Southeast Pirates's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They lost to Mogadore at home by a decisive 77-62 margin. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Southeast in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost seven in a row.

Despite the loss, Southeast still got an impressive performance from Garrett Sprutte, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 51.6% of Southeast's points, marking the 16th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Southeast has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Mogadore, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southeast will square off against the Huskies at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Cardinal is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Mogadore, they will head out on the road to challenge the Ravens at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Ravenna: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home, while the Wildcats have snatched up five consecutive wins on the road.
