Baseball Recap: Owen Has No Trouble Against Rosman

Owen got themselves on the board against Rosman on Thursday, but Rosman never followed suit. They blew past the Tigers 13-0. That 13 run margin sets a new team best for the Warhorses this season.

Jackson Warnock made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and two doubles. He has become a key player for Owen: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 0-15 otherwise.

In other batting news, Hayden Burpeau was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Houston Mashburn was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Owen was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rosman only posted a batting average of .062.

Owen's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-15. As for Rosman, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Owen beat the Tigers by a score of 13-0 later that day.
