Baseball Recap: Mcclave's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

McClave's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top against the Stratton Eagles by a score of 7-2. For the Cardinals, this counts as revenge for the 12-1 win the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Kielan Mallard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Elijah Solis was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. He has become a key player for McClave: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Ryan Bronniman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

McClave was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stratton only posted a batting average of .158.

The victory snapped McClave's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-5 record. As for Stratton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: McClave beat the Eagles by a score of 7-5 later that day.
