Football Recap: Kyron Pipes Leads Alpharetta's Defense on Friday + How To Watch

After soaring to 32 points the game before, Alpharetta was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They took a hard 28-12 fall against the North Atlanta Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 220th, while the Warriors are ranked 104th).

Alpharetta didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Kyron Pipes.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North Atlanta to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cayden Edwards, who rushed for 97 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight carries. Those 97 rushing yards gave Edwards a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Weston Goodman, who rushed for 87 yards and one TD on only six carries.

Alpharetta's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for North Atlanta, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alpharetta will square off against South Forsyth at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders will be up against the War Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 25.8 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for North Atlanta, they will take on Lambert at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors' defense better be ready for this one: the Longhorns have averaged an impressive 31 points per game this season.
