After a string of six wins, Pittsburg's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Independence Bulldogs by a score of 4-3. Pittsburg fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against Independence since Tuesday.

Pittsburg hit Independence with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Abner Salas, Bradly Cifuentes, and Luke Moss.

Pittsburg's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-2. As for Independence, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.

Pittsburg will square off against McDonald County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Independence, they will host Parsons at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
