Football Recap: Mallard Creek Piles Up the Points Against Chambers

Mallard Creek never let their opponents score on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Chambers Cougars 31-0. The Mavericks' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Mallard Creek found their leader in sophomore Xavier Edmond, who rushed for 86 yards and one TD on only 11 carries.

Mallard Creek was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 228 rushing yards. They are a perfect 5-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Mallard Creek didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Javian McMullen and Matthew Harris. Harris got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Mallard Creek is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 27.0 points over those games. As for Chambers, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-6.

Mallard Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chambers, they will take on Pinecrest at 7:00 p.m. on the 7th. The Cougars' defense better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 30.1 points per game this season.
