League recap: Cocoa extends winning streak with victory over Atlantic

Adding to the longest winning streak in 4A District 5 this week, Cocoa beat Atlantic 41-0. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Tigers.

Cocoa was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating the Sharks. John Wilkinson's team came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 27 last week.

Nick Rittenhouse threw for 249 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 24-41 with 1 interception.

Alec Dansereau was the best wideout in the league this week as Space Coast fell to Viera. Dansereau tallied 8 receptions for 84 yards. Chase Colantino helped Space Coast's passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 72 yards.

Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Vipers' Rittenhouse and Dansereau have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-3 quarterback Rittenhouse has thrown for 2,053 yards this season, while Dansereau has 62 catches for 848 yards. The Tigers' Lorrenzo Pratt leads the league in rushing yards with 1,153.

A big matchup in 4A District 5 this week will be when Space Coast takes on Atlantic. Jake Owens' team is in second place, while Toussiant Robinson's team is in third place.

Cocoa took down the Sharks 41-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Pratt ran for 148 yards in the win.
