Recap: P.K. Yonge Blue Wave vs. Bradford Tornadoes

The P.K. Yonge Blue Wave waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They strolled past Bradford with points to spare, taking the game 59-45. For P.K. Yonge, this counts as revenge for the 55-49 defeat Bradford walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

P.K. Yonge got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ashlyn Young out in front who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Young has scored at least a third of P.K. Yonge's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reniyah Clark, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.

P.K. Yonge's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Bradford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6.

P.K. Yonge will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Trinity Catholic at 6:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Trinity Catholic is ranked 91st, while P.K. Yonge is ranked 100th). As for Bradford, they will head out on the road to challenge Hawthorne at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hawthorne has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
