Recap: Carroll Eagles vs. Ashford Yellowjackets
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Enterprise, the Carroll Eagles were happy to have found some success on Monday. They managed a 65-60 victory over Ashford. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Carroll's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lakeith Person, who scored 25 points along with 6 steals. Person has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of N'jia Gosha, who scored 15 points along with 8 rebounds and 7 blocks.
Carroll's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Ashford, they bumped their record down to 4-4 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
Carroll will take on Rehobeth at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rehobeth will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 300th, while Carroll is ranked 72nd). As for Ashford, they will head out on the road to face off against Dale County at 6:30 p.m. on December 14th.
