Baseball Recap: South Boston Knights vs. New Mission/Boston Community Leadership Academy
The South Boston Knights sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over New Mission/Boston Community Leadership Academy on Monday.
Daviel Mateo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Mateo was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carlos Francisco, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last ten games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Daniel Pe?a, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
