Softball Recap: Madonna Wins Going Away Against St. Clairsville

After only one run in their last contest, Madonna made sure to put some runs up on the board against St. Clairsville on Tuesday. The Blue Dons blew past the Red Devils 15-6. The Blue Dons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Kendall Ryan made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

In other batting news, Madonna got a massive performance out of Chloe Orecchio, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with five runs and two stolen bases. Madi Owens was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Madonna's record now sits at 16-2. As for St. Clairsville, their defeat was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-16.

Coming up, Madonna will welcome Wellsville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for St. Clairsville, they will head out to face off against Barnesville at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
