Basketball Recap: Kentrell Beasley's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Belleview Christian over Akron

Belleview Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Akron Rams, falling 67-41. If the Bruins were looking for revenge after losing 52-28 to the Rams when the teams met back in December of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Belleview Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kentrell Beasley, who went 6-for-12 to rack up 15 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Mallory, who posted 11 points.

Belleview Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Akron, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Belleview Christian will square off against Rocky Mountain Lutheran at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Akron, they will take on Idalia in a tournament on Friday.
