Football Recap: Chester's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

If Chester was riding high fresh off their 53-7 takedown of Pinckneyville last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Yellowjackets fell 33-29 to the Frankfort Redbirds on Friday. The loss put an end to the Yellowjackets' undefeated start to the season.

Trayton Peters threw for 117 yards and two TDs. Tashawn Palacio was his top target, picking up 75 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Ethan Colvis rushed for 135 yards and one touchdown on only 13 carries.

Having lost for the first time this season, Chester fell to 2-1. As for Frankfort, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Chester and Frankfort will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Yellowjackets are set to challenge their familiar foe Sparta/Steeleville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Frankfort will take on rival Pinckneyville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
