Basketball Recap: Mt. Carmel Comes Up Short

Mt. Carmel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. The matchup between them and the Poway Titans didn't end well, with the Mt. Carmel Sundevils falling 65-50. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 66-59 back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Mt. Carmel lost, don't look at Makai Orje. Despite the final result, he went 8-for-15 en route to 20 points. Orje continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tyler Humphrey, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

Mt. Carmel's record now sits at 5-22. As for Poway, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 17-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Carmel will challenge Westview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mt. Carmel is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.3 points per game this season. As for Poway, they will take on Del Norte at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
