Quitman Gets a Boost from Dear in 34-33 Defeat
Starting off the list is Quitman's Akylin Dear, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Dear rushed for 190 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.6 yards per carry, and also threw for 135 yards and two touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 144 rushing yards dating back to last season.

He is becoming a predictor of Mendenhall's success: when he posts at least three passing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 0-3 when he doesn't).
