Quitman Gets a Boost from Dear in 34-33 Defeat
Starting off the list is Quitman's Akylin Dear, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Dear rushed for 190 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.6 yards per carry, and also threw for 135 yards and two touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 144 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Underclassman Ty Davis came into Friday's game looking to prove himself and that's exactly what he did. Nobody could stop he on Friday as he threw for 179 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushed for 63 yards and a touchdown on only six carries. He is becoming a predictor of Mendenhall's success: when he posts at least three passing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 0-3 when he doesn't).
Mendenhall's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-3. A feisty cat fight will be fought when Tigers faces off against Quitman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
