Softball Recap: Lake Wales Takes a Loss

Lake Wales and Eau Gallie squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Lake Wales had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Commodores by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Highlanders have suffered since April 23, 2024.

Anna Conroy was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lake Wales saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keira Davis, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles.

Lake Wales' loss dropped their record down to 16-10. As for Eau Gallie, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Lake Wales nor Eau Gallie have any future games scheduled.
