Basketball Game Preview: Alamo Heights Mules vs. Pieper Warriors

The Alamo Heights Mules will take on the Pieper Warriors in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Alamo Heights is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Boerne just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were dealt a 65-27 defeat at the hands of the Greyhounds. Alamo Heights' loss came about despite a quality game from Berkley Hart, who posted 18 points in addition to five rebounds and three blocks. Hart has been hot, having posted two or more blocks the last eight times she's played.

Meanwhile, Pieper had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 64-33 win over the Chargers. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 20 points or more this season.

Pieper's win came from a few key players Alamo Heights will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Alisha Peavy, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Arianna Davis, who had 12 points and five steals.
