Baseball Recap: Shepherd Takes a Loss

Shepherd was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 8-3 to the Clare Pioneers. The Bluejays were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pioneers earlier this season, when they won 7-6.

Jacoby Polzin made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Sam King, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Shepherd's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 18-6. As for Clare, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Shepherd beat the Pioneers by a score of 7-6 later that day.
