Volleyball Recap: Hmong Academy Takes a Loss

Hmong Academy came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Concordia Academy Beacons. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Hmong Academy has suffered since October 21, 2024.

While Hmong Academy was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Concordia Academy's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-10, 25-16.

Concordia Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Piper Sutherland, who had seven digs and five aces. That's the most aces Sutherland has posted since back in September. Addie Pickett was another key player, getting eight digs and two assists.

Hmong Academy's loss dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Concordia Academy, their win ended a four-match drought at home and bumped them up to 12-14-1.

Hmong Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Concordia Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against St. Croix Lutheran on the 25th.
