Volleyball Recap: Rising Sun Falls Short of Trinity Lutheran in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Rising Sun can now relate to. They came up short against the Trinity Lutheran Cougars on Saturday, falling 3-0. The Shiners have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Avery Elliott paced Rising Sun's offense, picking up four kills. Elliott got some help from Reese Merica and her 12 assists. Finally, Liv Graver kept Rising Sun's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Rising Sun's loss dropped their record down to 19-14. As for Trinity Lutheran, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-11.

Rising Sun does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Trinity Lutheran, after both having extra time off, they and North Decatur will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
