Volleyball Game Preview: Arcadia Titans vs. Rio Rico Hawks

After both having extra time off, the Arcadia Titans and the Rio Rico Hawks will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

If Marcos de Niza wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Arcadia, they should've done a better job of containing Tessa Dwyer-Kim. The Titans walked away with a 3-1 win over the Padres on Wednesday with plenty of help from Dwyer-Kim, who had 24 digs. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 10.2 digs per game.

Arcadia had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-10, 25-12, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Rio Rico had already won 17 in a row and they went ahead and made it 18 on Monday. They blew past the Chargers 3-0.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Rio Rico was: they took every set by at least 15 points. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-10, 25-5.

Rio Rico's victory bumped their record up to 23-5. As for Arcadia, their win bumped their record up to 18-12.
