Softball Recap: Midd-West Comes Up Short

Midd-West dropped down to 4-2 on Wednesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Mifflinburg Wildcats, falling 10-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Mustangs were not able to get on the board.

As for Mifflinburg, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by six runs or more this season.

For Mifflinburg's part, Taylor Stewart made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Stewart has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Amelia Fluman and Avery Reibsome did most of the damage at the plate: Fluman went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double, while Reibsome went 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Fluman has posted since back in May of 2025. Aubrey Fluman was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
