Baseball Recap: Tanner Sets Scoring Season-High Against Woodville

Tanner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 25th straight loss dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 19-17 heartbreaker at the hands of the Woodville Panthers. On the bright side, the 17- run performance marked the Rattlers' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Michael Dempsey was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-5 with five stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those hits were his first of the season. Javen Carter was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Tanner's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Woodville, they moved to 3-15 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Tanner will be playing in front of their home fans against Vina at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Woodville, they will head out on the road to square off against Kate Duncan Smith DAR at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers are facing the Patriots at the right time seeing as the Patriots are stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
