Football Recap: Orion Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Orion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 48-12 loss at the hands of the Sherrard Tigers. The Chargers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Defeat or not, Orion got some senior leadership from Owen Voorhees and Kale Filler. Voorhees picked up 127 receiving yards and a pair of scores, while Filler threw for 264 yards and two TDs. Voorhees is becoming a predictor of the Chargers' success: when he posts at least 80 receiving yards the team is 2-1 (and 0-5 when he doesn't).

Orion's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Sherrard, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 2-6.

Looking ahead, Orion will take on Kewanee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers will be up against the Boilermakers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 48.86 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Sherrard, they will be playing at home against Riverdale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
