Basketball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Paulding County

If Osborne wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Paulding County, they should've done a better job of containing Hope Johnson. The Paulding County Patriots took their contest on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 65-33 victory over the Osborne Cardinals thanks to Johnson, who dropped a double-double with 28 points and 12 boards. Those 28 points gave her a new career-high.

Another player making a difference was Kayla Manigault, who went 7-for-15 en route to 16 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played.

Several Cardinals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Binta Darbo, who posted four points and nine boards. Darbo is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games she's played. Mina Ly was another key player, putting up seven points and 11 rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Paulding County and bumps their season record up to 19-7. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 46 points. As for Osborne, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-20 record this season.

Coming up, Paulding County will take on Campbell at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Campbell is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.3 points per game this season. Osborne does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
