Jack Gardner put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in March of 2024 on Friday. He struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

Gardner's effort led Sugar-Salem over South Fremont and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
