The biggest upset of the week belonged to Cypress Springs, who defeated 349th ranked Cypress Falls, 20-18.

Fans got a thrill when Mark Ramirez and Corey Mcllwain connected against Cy-Ridge. The longest such play in 5A Region III District 17 this season, the connection resulted in 74 yards.

Cypress Lakes's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Ramirez threw for 169 yards and Mcllwain had 91 yards receiving. On the ground Romeo Williams contributed 85 yards. Williams helped Cypress Lakes' passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 42 yards.

The Spartans' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver.

As it stands, the Lobos are in first, while Cy-Fair is in fourth.

The Panthers moved up to 496 from 714 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 5A Region III District 17. Cypress Springs was able to make move up by beating the Eagles 20-18.
